About Us

In Spring of 2017 we started searching for a place to build our retirement home. After much searching we found 35 acres in the woods of Melrose, Florida and in December of 2017 we made it our own.

It started out as simply "raw land" filled with many species of trees including Oak, Hickory, Pecan, Maple, Pine and others. Along with that there was a lot of undergrowth and only a small trail winding through the property. The characteristic of some of the twisting Oak trees inspired the name of our homestead.

Being out in the middle of the woods also means that we have an abundance of wildlife around us.
